Having grown up in the Upper Valais (Oberwallis) and later spending significant time living and working abroad, I bring both a deep connection to this community and a personal understanding of what it means to navigate life between cultures.
My own experiences as an expatriate have given me insight into some of the unique challenges that can come with living away from home—such as adjusting to a new culture, finding a sense of belonging, navigating different expectations and values, and maintaining relationships across distance and cultural differences. These experiences, combined with my professional background as a California-licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, shape the way I work with my clients.
I understand that being an expat or part of an intercultural relationship can bring both wonderful opportunities and unexpected challenges. My goal is to provide a space where you can feel understood, supported, and free to explore these experiences without judgment. I bring a culturally sensitive, systemic, and relational perspective to my work, while recognizing that every person's experience is unique.

The first session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other and see whether we feel like a good fit. We’ll talk about what brings you to counseling, what you’re hoping to gain from the process, and what has been going on in your life and relationships.
I’ll also take some time to learn about your personal history, relationships, cultural background, and the experiences that have shaped you. Depending on what brings you to therapy, we may begin identifying patterns or areas that you would like to better understand or change.
There is no expectation that you have everything figured out before you come in. You can simply show up as you are. My goal is to create a comfortable, non-judgmental space where you can feel heard and understood.
We’ll also talk about how I work, answer any questions you may have, and discuss what the sessions might look like moving forward. Most importantly, the first session is about beginning to build a relationship based on trust, safety, and collaboration.

The frequency of sessions depends on your individual needs and goals. Most clients begin with weekly sessions, which provides consistency and momentum in the therapeutic process. Over time, we may adjust the frequency based on your progress, needs, and preferences.
